Gossypium hirsutum (AD1) 'ZhongZhiMian No.2' genome CAAS_v1
Overview
Gossypium hirsutum cultivar Zhongzhimian No.2 (cv. Zhongzhimian No.2, breeding by the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences) authority assessed by government at 2003. The cv. Zhongzhimian No.2 possesses the dual characteristics of high-yield and Verticillium wilt resistance that inherited from hybrid combination of G. hirsutum cv. Zhong No.99 and Gossypium barbadense Duomaozao, respectively; and became the parent stock of dozens of cultivars and until now planted over 15 million acres in China. The genome of cv. Zhongzhimian No.2 was sequenced and assembled by the combination sequence technologies of PacBio long read, Illumina short read and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) method.
