The CottonGen newsletter 2021 is issued to inform users about new or updated data and tools in CottonGen. In addition to new and updated data, each issue will provide more information on data or tools on the featured tool/data section.
CottonGen annotations are added togenomes G. trilobum (D8), G. laxum (D9), and G. schwendimanii (D11). The annotation includes functional analysis, protein homologies, markers and CottonGen RefTrans alignments.
The quality and consistency of agricultural data has greatly improved since the use of digital technologies applies to all steps of the research data lifecycle, particularly at the collection and management stages that integrate standardized ontology terms, such as lists of defined crop traits and variables. The structured vocabulary Cotton Crop Ontology was established in 2016 by CottonGen curator with input from Drs.
CottonGen annotations are added to G. raimondii (D5, 'D5-8' ISU_v1) and G. gossypioides (D6, ISU_v1) genome. The annotation includes functional analysis, protein homologies, marker and trans alignments.
